Above is the completed 2.24 kW system located on the Administration Building.
Shorewood School District installed 2 Solar Electric Systems. The smaller PV system, located on the roof of the Administration Building is 2.24KW. This solar array will be used as a demonstration system and educational tool for students and the community. Students will study, track and analyze the system performance utilizing web based monitoring of the energy output and CO2 reduction, as well as collect temperature and weather data.
The second PV system is a 12.54KW roof mounted array which is located on the Intermediate School. Both systems will be monitored and studied by the students in the high school as well as intermediate school.
Shorewood School District applied for a Cash Back Reward from Focus on Energy in the amount of $35,000.00 for the PV system. Additional funding was secured through We Energies Renewable Energy Grant for Non- Profits for approximately $50,000.00. They also plan on utilizing We Energies Solar Buy Down program.
